Meditation for Leaders

Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation Conference

New Delhi, India February 25, 2024 8 volunteers 120 participantsWith former CBI director Karthikeyan sir and fellow leaders at the Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation 1st Global Conference of Meditation in New Delhi.

Volunteered at the Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation 1st Global Conference of Meditation in New Delhi, bringing meditation and mindful leadership to senior government officials, bankers, and business leaders.

Why leaders need meditation

The conference gathered former directors, secretaries, managing directors, and entrepreneurs around one uncommon idea: that meditation is not a retreat from responsibility, but a foundation for it. Leaders carry weighty decisions, tight schedules, and public expectations. Stillness gives them a place to return to between one decision and the next.

A convergence of service and leadership

Sharing the frame with former CBI director Karthikeyan sir, the former MD of Indian Bank, the former Telecom Secretary of India, and Coimbatore-based entrepreneur Manivannan was a reminder that leadership is a shared responsibility. Each of them had spent decades in public service or enterprise; now they were exploring the inner work that sustains outer work.

The day itself

Sessions covered meditation practice, breathwork, and the neuroscience of focus under pressure. Conversations in the corridors moved from protocol to presence. The volunteering team handled logistics, welcomed delegates, and supported the facilitators so that the leaders could fully receive the practice.

What this experience taught me

"I learned that leadership is not only about what a person does, but about the stillness they can hold while doing it. When people who have shaped institutions sit down to meditate, they are not stepping away from power — they are learning to use it with more clarity and less reactivity."
