Happy Sunday — Community Catch-up
A local Happy Sunday community catch-up hosted by Vellore Counsellor Mrs. Bobby Kathiravan at her home in Otteri — combining meditation, talks, mindful games, and a shared vegetarian lunch with like-minded neighbours and families.
A Sunday shaped around presence
Mrs. Bobby Kathiravan, Vellore Counsellor, opened her home in Otteri for a Happy Sunday gathering — a small community ritual built around meditation, conversation, and shared food. The format is simple: come as you are, leave a little lighter.
Meditation, talks, and mindful games
The morning began with a guided meditation, followed by short talks on living mindfully in the everyday. Mindful games for children and adults kept the energy playful without losing the underlying intention. The Head of Department from Vellore Government College joined the gathering and warmly cheered the spirit of the event.
Mindful lunch, real community
A vegetarian lunch was served with the same attention given to the practice — eaten slowly, with conversation across generations. By the end of the afternoon, what stood out was not any single session, but the quiet ease of a community of like-minded people choosing to spend a Sunday together.

What this experience taught me
"The smallest gatherings are often the most nourishing. No stage, no agenda — just a host opening her home, friends showing up, and the practice naturally settling into the room. Community, when it is this honest, becomes its own meditation."
